As an independent organization CISV is not affiliated with any government,
corporation, church, union, or special interest group. CISV is comprised of
individuals from many of these groups, but our common bond is the philosophy of CISV.
Although independent, CISV works with like-minded associations
and organizations to pursue common purposes and share information.
The Alliance for
International Educational and Cultural Exchange was established in 1992 to
promote federal policies that support and advance international exchange in
all its dimensions. Representing 76 U.S.-based exchange organizations, the
Alliance has established itself as the leading policy voice of the American
exchange community.
The Alliance formed through a merger of two predecessor
organizations: the Liaison Group, which represented higher education
associations, and the International Exchange Association (IEA), a coalition of
citizen and youth exchange groups.
