Youngstown-Cleveland, Northeast Ohio Chapter CISV

The beginning

The Greater Youngstown Chapter has been an active chapter since it founding in 1963.  The Greater Youngstown Chapter was the fifth chapter to be chartered by CISV-USA.  The first chapter was in Cincinnati, OH in 1951 where CISV began.  Other chapters that preceded the Greater Youngstown, OH Chapter include Miami County, OH; Philadelphia, PA; and Michigan City, MI.

Expansion

In the year 2000 due to the increased number of participants from the Cleveland area we changed our name to the Youngstown-Cleveland, Northeast Ohio Chapter.

In the year 2010 at the August Membership meeting, the membership voted to change our name to the Northeast Ohio Chapter and eliminate the specific city names of Youngstown and Cleveland.
