CISV is a program for the entire family!

a short  video about CISV. (YouTube)

CISV in Action. (YouTube)

CISV evolved from a firm conviction that lasting peace is possible if individuals and groups can learn to live together as friends. For ClSV, the key to making this vision a reality was to start working with children and youth. Programs were developed which offered young people opportunities to meet their peers from other countries and to form intercultural friendships. Locally, programs give people the chance to learn about the cultures in their own communities and explore important themes related to peace and understanding.

VILLAGE FUNDRAISER

Nautica Poker Festival

May 10-13, 2012

Volunteers are needed

(All volunteers will be trained & must be at least 18 years old)

Thursday & Friday           May 10-11, 2012 3:00 pm-12:00 am

Saturday & Sunday          May 12-13, 2012 1:00 pm-12:00 am

CISV is sponsoring this fundraiser as a unique opportunity to fund most of the cost of hosting our 50th Anniversary Children’s International Summer Village.  To be successful the event requires 30 volunteers for every hour the festival is open, so we need every member to volunteer and sign up for as many shifts as possible.  Please ask your family and friends to come help too!  We need them and it will be fun!!  THIS MAY BE OUR LAST CHANCE TO HAVE THIS FUNDRAISER, AS AFTER THE CASINO OPENS THE FUTURE OF THIS EVENT IS UNKNOWN.

Training sessions will be held in both the Youngstown and Cleveland areas.  You do NOT need to know anything about poker or how to play Texas Hold’Em to volunteer.  Volunteering is very easy and the players and staff are very supportive.
